30-Day Prop Challenge Prep Roadmap

Phase 1: Foundation (Days 1–7)

Objective: Set up structure, rules, and psychology.

Days 1 - 2

  • Review prop firm rules (daily drawdown, overall drawdown, minimum trading days, profit target).
  • Decide your risk-per-trade (typically 0.25%–0.5%).

DAY 3

  • Select ONE or TWO instruments to focus on (e.g., NQ, ES, XAUUSD, EURUSD).

Day 4

  • Backtest your main strategy on at least 20 recent trades. Note win rate, average R, and drawdowns.
DAYs 5 - 6

  • Define your daily routine (pre-market prep, trading window, journaling, review).
  • Do a “mock challenge day” with rules enforced.

DAY 7

  • Journal reflections: What worked, what rules felt hard to follow?

Phase 2: Execution Drill (Days 8 –14)

Objective: Build habit of rule-following and consistency.

Days 8 - 10

  • Practice daily risk limits on demo.
  • Track P&L in a journal (green/red day → note emotions, setups taken).

Days 11 - 12

  • Add trade replay drills: practice only A+ setups, avoid overtrading.

Day 13

  • Introduce mindfulness routine: 5–10 minutes breathing before trading.

DAY 14

  • Weekly review: did you stick to rules? What triggers impulsive trades?

Phase 3: Challenge Simulation (Days 15 – 21)

Objective: Trade as if you are already in the prop challenge.

Days 15 - 19

  • Run a full “challenge simulation” on demo. Follow prop rules to the letter.
  • Journal every trade (entry, stop, target, rationale).
Day 20

  • Review simulated results → check if daily loss limits were respected.

Day 21

  • Create a “rule card” to keep on your desk (max trades/day, lot size, daily loss).

Phase 4: Final Prep & Mindset (Days 22 – 30)

Objective:Sharpen focus, reduce errors, build confidence.

Days 22 - 25

  • Trade small size live or continue on demo with strict adherence.
  • Focus only on A+ setups.
Day 26

  • Stress test: Intentionally take a losing trade → practice stopping after daily loss.

Days 27 - 28

  • Build your pre-market checklist (news, levels, trend, bias).

Day 29

  • Final review: Write down lessons from 30 days.
Day 30

  • Take the day off → clear mind, reset, be fresh for the real challenge.
