Rob Kohr

Creative Director
RobKohr
RobKohr

Rob Kohr is an award-winning VFX and animation director with more than twenty years shaping the look and feel of some of the most recognized kids and family brands. His work has supported major campaigns for SpongeBob, Dora, Baby Shark, Legend of Korra, Kids Choice Awards, and the NFL partnership that brought Bikini Bottom into live sports. His projects have earned industry recognition, including multiple Emmy wins and nominations across Sports and Children’s categories, along with a Webby People’s Voice Award for Best Social Campaign.

Rob built his reputation by blending hands-on artistry with clear creative direction. He leads teams through storyboarding, animation, lighting, compositing, and final delivery, and he stays closely involved in the craft. He is known for maintaining brand fidelity while helping artists push their work further, and for stepping in to solve tough production problems without slowing the pace.

Rob is also a longtime advocate for the ethical use of AI in creative work. He has partnered with Adobe, OpenAI, and Runway to test early-stage tools and bring new workflows into real production. His focus is simple. Use technology to support artists, raise quality, and open new doors for independent creators.

Along with his studio work, Rob runs Kohrtoons Studio and teaches advanced animation and production techniques to the next generation of artists.

Rob was part of the restructuring at Paramount Global in 2025, which marked the end of a long chapter with the studio but opened the door to new creative opportunities.

Today, he continues to direct animation, explore new character and motion pipelines, and help teams navigate the shift toward AI-supported creative production.
